The match ends when there is only one person (or team) left standing. At the beginning of each match, up to 100 players airdrop into a map to loot weapons, ammunition, and support items from the abandoned buildings therein so that they can survive the battle. Players can fight each other on the Battlegrounds in solo "every man for himself" matches, or they can team up with a friend (duos)-or two or three (squads)-to fight against other teams. While the "core" version of the game is currently only available on PC via Steam, official editions with slightly different content are also available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, iOS, and Android, with the mobile versions handled by Tencent Games' Lightspeed & Quantum development team. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (often shortened to PUBG) is a popular last-man-standing online shooter developed by the eponymous PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of TERA creators Bluehole Studios (as of 2019, Krafton Game Union).
